Four Rivers
Cultural Center is located in Ontario, Oregon and
was originally established to celebrate the story of the Japanese-Americans
who found a new home in the western Treasure Valley. Released
from World War II internment camps, many worked on farms in the
area. When the war ended, hundreds decided to stay in this place
where they had been welcome. This museum celebrates the weaving
of a human tapestry consisting of diverse groups that have come
together here and built a strong community. The valley is a blending
of American Indian, Basque, European, Hispanic and Japanese cultures.
